Marsha Brown

Marsha has extensive experience in operations management, holds a BBA, and a PMP® certification. Having a passion for the intricacies of people, projects, and change management, Marsha brings over a decade of operations experience to our team. When not in the office, Marsha can be found hiking the BC coast or travelling abroad.

James Tiong

James Tiong holds a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University, specialization in Management Information System, a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from The University of Toronto. He completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence and is a certified Project Management Professional. He has two academic publications to date and possess years of executive experience in operations management, corporate strategy development, and project implementation. James is currently an advisor for Harvard Business Review, board of director for Common Compass, and board of trustee for Hillfield Strathallan College. He believes in empowering children to be confident about their abilities and taking actions to make the world a better place. In his spare time, James enjoys running, travelling, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

Esther Yang

Esther Yang is the VP of Operations at STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC).  She is responsible for managing the organization’s HR, helping and creating organizational tasks and programs in collaboration with the Board of Directors and the teachers.  Her primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization’s financial functions, as well as to contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.

Esther is passionate about education.  Her professional experience in the field of education includes her work as a certified teacher, the Academic Coordinator, the Assistant Regional Academic Manager and a researcher at the cognitive development lab, for more than a decade.  She is committed to providing quality education for all students.

Antonio Crespo

Antonio Crespo is a passionate learner, a lover of the skies and the space, as well as an enthusiast of human behaviour and Artificial Intelligence studies. He holds two bachelor’s degrees, BSc Aeronautical Sciences and BSc Social Sciences (Sociology, Political Science), and a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Throughout more than 25 years working with the Armed Forces and the Aviation Industry, he was assigned to several technical, military, managerial, executive and diplomatic positions, which includes a mandate in one of the specialized United Nations organizations. As a researcher, he has been actively working with Artificial Intelligence for the last eleven years. Antonio is currently conducting two AI related research projects, the first one targeting machine learning and sustainable development, and the second one focusing on aircraft automation and autonomy. He is also a former Graduate Science Teaching and Learning Fellow, within a Concordia University program aimed at the enhancement of STEM teaching-learning processes, and current instructor at the Concordia Graduate and Professional Skills Program.

Goran Sreckovic, Ph.D., P. Eng.

Throughout his career Goran Sreckovic consistently delivered results in complex organizations driven by technological, environmental, regulatory and social changes. He influenced decision makers to adopt innovative strategic and operations plans and led cross-functional teams to implement those plans. His passion to find common ground among diverse stakeholders and build respectful relationships is well recognized.

As the Director of Resource Planning and Regulatory Affairs with Yukon Energy Corporation (YEC) he led the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives. Considering the changing demographics of YEC’s workforce, he recognized a need to build strong teams whose values align with changes brought by younger generations.

In multiple positions with BC Hydro, British Columbia, he contributed to increasing efficiency of BC Hydro water resources by developing and implementing optimization models for operations of multi-use water resources and meeting long term energy needs of British Columbia.

Daniel Jean-Baptiste

Daniel Jean-Baptiste is a computer engineer with extensive experience and management skills and works for a high-tech telecommunications company. These companies develop and sell solutions that enable service providers to efficiently deliver high-quality voice and data services over broadband access networks while leveraging investments in their network infrastructure. As a software developer, he is responsible for the development of management software produced by the company. Daniel Jean-Baptiste holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Engineering from Concordia University (2008).

I have 15 years of experience leading and managing teams in a fast-paced and performance-centric industry.  During that time training and education have been a key focus of mine to develop staff and facilitate my team’s success.  In my current role, I am responsible for driving employee development in my organization through innovative training solutions.  I also have spent several years volunteering in the public-school system as a teaching assistant and am a qualified teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.  I am excited to have the chance to contribute to the great work being carried out by STEM Montessori.

Shelly has recently started a consulting practice driving results for SME clients including Co-Extro. Shelly has her MBA in Marketing from the Schulich School of Business. When she is not busy branding, Shelly enjoys family time, practicing Spanish and travelling the world.

Hamorn Lau

Hamorn is very experienced in the field of Educational Administration and Leadership. She obtained a Bachelor of Teaching, a Master of Education, and a Master of Counselling. She used to work at a private independent school, where she screened, assessed and interviewed admission applicants. She also served Oxford University Press as a Writer who designed a new program for young learners. Her research article related to childhood education is published in The East Asia Regional Council Of Schools (EARCOS) Journal (Fall issue, 2017). She has presented in various international conferences, including The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), The East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) Teachers’ Conference, and The 21st Century Learning (21CLHK) Conference. She has received several awards, such as EARCOS Action Research Grant and EdUHK Conference Award. Hamorn is currently the Head of Admissions at STEM Montessori Academy of Canada.

She is a fourth-year business student pursuing a concentration in Human Resource Management and Marketing at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business. Claudia is a diligent and driven individual who strives to promote collaborative work environments and develop relationships for organizations.

Gautam (GV)

Gautam has over 3 years of experience working in International Education. Gautam is a MBA Graduate from the University of Suffolk, United Kingdom and also obtained a Bachelor of Business from Monash University, Australia. Gautam has previously worked as a consultant assisting students regarding educational issues such as course and program selection, class scheduling, school adjustment, study habits, and career planning. Gautam has successfully helped students to apply and study abroad in over 10 different countries. Prior to that, Gautam worked as a Course Administrator at the University of Suffolk to assist relevant academic teams and support the effective operation of the academic programmes. Outside of work, Gautam is a very big soccer fan and follows Manchester United Football Club very closely. Gautam is currently volunteering with STEM Montessori Academy of Canada as the International Admissions Director.

Shyamali Livera

Shyamali Nelson is a Team Lead at STEM Montessori Academy of Canada. She holds a degree in MBA with specialization in Banking and Financing and BA(Hons) in Business Administration. She has 10 years of experience working as an administrative in small to medium-sized companies and volunteered several months at Rogers Place and churches . As she can fluently speak three languages, she also worked as a translator. She enjoys cooking and watching movies in her free time.

Aleksandra Chudinova

Aleksandra was born and grew up in Ukraine and moved to Canada in November 2019. She is an HR manager and Technical Recruiter with 5 years of experience with various IT or related to IT companies: educational courses, relocation agencies, local and international outsourcing companies. She also has 2,5 years of cumulative experience in managing teams from 2 to 10 people, remote and non-remote. Her HR skills include budgeting, design of a compensation and benefits package, staff training and personnel development, people, and administrative resource management. Took part as a mentor in the Aisec hackathon for youth.  
Currently, she is the volunteer and Admissions Co-Lead at the STEM Montessori Academy of Canada.

Moushir Melek

Moushir has B.Sc. In Business Administration and working now on completing Human Resources diploma from McMaster University.

Moushir has over 15 years of leadership experience nationally and internationally in sales and customer service. He is passionate about the production and management of strong teams of workers, capable of streamlining processes, generating revenue, and increasing productivity through managing employee relations, carrying out administrative communications, performance reviews and new onboard recruiting sessions. Moushir is an Excellent communicator dedicated to upholding the highest standards and principles of the business and a resourceful decision-maker who enjoys solving problems and envisaging smart solutions. Moushir enjoys playing sports with his kids and going to the gym.

Khushi is the HR Manager at SMAC. She has 13 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Professional. Her experience across multiple countries and diverse industries ranging from start-ups to big conglomerates make her a resourceful leader providing insights into dealing with people across cultures as well as various aspects of HR including talent management, training and development, system implementation, change management, policies and procedures, as well as payroll. Having previously worked in setting up the HR department from ground up has helped Khushi in her role at SMAC as she helped re-structure various teams here as well. Developing strong relationships at all levels of the organization is important to her as is staying organized and solving problems. In her free time, she enjoys constantly learning new things, innovative cooking, photography and solving technological problems of friends and family.

I am a postgraduate in MBA with a specialisation in Human Resources. With nearly 3 years of professional experience with start-ups in the e-commerce domain, I have been a problem solver and a self-starter. My role has allowed me to focus on end to end recruitment (both technical and non-technical) onboarding candidates, conducting training for on-boarded employees and evaluating their performance.
